Mixed Media Exploration

Over the years, I kept a journal where I could record and reflect on my thoughts and feelings. After revisiting them, I decided to create an abstract representation of those sentiments. What followed was a poetic response about mental illness.

Using these recordings, I developed a series of screen printed posters using thermo–chromatic ink. When the ink is activated with heat, it disappears revealing text on the posters that is normally hidden. I urged the audience to touch, interact, and respond to the posters. Through these pieces, the viewer was not only able to engage and connect with the work; it allowed a dialogue to be created.

This project allowed me to fuse digital and analog design– blurring the lines between them. While I enjoy digital design, my favorite type of work is when I can get my hands dirty and make the rules as I go.
